The Taiwan BIM Task Group, a collaborative effort of BSI Taiwan, NTU's BIM Center, Taiwan Construction Research Institute, Taiwan Architecture Center, Taiwan Building Information Model Association, and the Society for Lifecycle Management of Residential Environments, marks a crucial milestone in the construction industry. Mirroring Europe's approach, where digitalization in public works and construction is highly valued for its transformative impact, the Task Group champions the widespread adoption of BIM as “digital construction.” This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of public projects, ensuring better value for public funds. It also supports the sustainable competitiveness of the industry. By integrating international BIM standards, particularly the ISO 19650 series, the group seeks to optimize project delivery, contribute to smart city development, and promote synergistic sharing of resources, all directed towards elevating the construction sector's global competitiveness.
Our mission:
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is fundamentally transforming the global construction industry. In the next decade, BIM's integration with architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) models is expected to become widespread in engineering planning, design, and construction management. It will merge with advanced information management, data analysis, and real-time information to progressively achieve the twin goals of a “circular economy” and “smart cities”, moving towards a sustainable and intelligent living environment.
This digital revolution in the construction industry brings both challenges and opportunities. The Taiwan BIM Task Group aims to help local industry players understand global BIM trends and align with international standards, becoming a resource platform for BIM expertise, technology, energy, and talent. Their efforts include:

Their efforts include:
- Providing translated reference documents for international BIM standards.
- Disseminating knowledge about these standards.
- Promoting practical BIM management.
- Facilitating information exchange and collaboration with related international organizations.
- Conducting activities that align with their founding mission.
